Day 3, second flight finished;sailing with pain

Welcome to day three of the championship. The Race Committee is rearranging the starting line as the last of the second flight ready to finish.

The winds have finally eased on Narragansett Bay today but still with sunshine. It is blowing around six to eight knots from the Northeast, dramatically different from the blustery southerlies of the last two days. Expect there to be some shakeups in the gold and hotly contested repechage fleets.

The top two from repechage A and B will likely race off allowing for only two teams from the repechage fleet to fill the remaining two quarter final positions.

The Gold Fleet is racing for seeding in the quarter finals, AND, if there is no racing after this series, the results from the Gold Fleet will determine the event winner.

We will have updated scores for you momentarily as the Media Boat gets into place.

The injury mentioned yesterday was with Rita Goncalves of Portugal. She had fractured rib that was relating to an existing back injury. She has consulted a doctor and is carrying on today.
