Macgregor Wins Title and Barkow Second

Macgregor and her team towed in after winning the finals

Nothing changed on the last downwind and Barkow was only able to pull within a few lengths before Lucy Macgregor and her team triumphantly crossed the finish line to win the 2010 ISAF Match Racing World Championships.

Barkow gains slightly downwind, Macgregor ahead

On the long run Barkow was only able to catch up two lengths but Macgregor still ahead by 4 lengths.

Barkow gets a penalty in  a pre race luff and Macgregor wins the start. Now the two boats are converging and Macgregor leads by 3 lengths.

Macgregor ties series 2-2 with Barkow; LAST RACE

Barkow tried to burn her penalty with a luff next to the finishing boat but could not make it as Macgregor sails over first.

There may have been contact at top mark causing Barkow’s penalty.

Macgregor steels inside at weather mark, Barkow takes penalty

Upwind now Macgregor has gained a little on the left but Barkow keeps sending her left on each exchange.

Then Macgregor rounds inside at weather mark and draws a penalty on Barkow. now they are in a duel.

Barkow rounds ahead of Macgregor

Barkow was able to lead Macgregor over to Rose Island then tacked to cover the British.

They round bow to stern and are surging down the run less than a length apart.
